Pictures from Term 2

Here are some pictures from Term two:

The first three are from my artist project on Andy Goldsworthy. I made them based off of Andy's work and am very happy with how they turned out.

 The last three are from my plastic piece. They are cut out pieces of plastic bags and am still not sure what I am going to do with them.

I am now working on a small canvas piece where I am taking the left over bits of plastic and glueing them onto the plastic.

I did more work on my plastic sting and I am having fun with it. I have decided not to turn the plastic into yarn and make something useful. I want to play around with the patters the string makes.

Creative Passport Term Two

Over the family day weekend my parents, brother and I took a trip to visit my grandparents in Arizona. At YVR there were a few displays of Ken Stephens's collection of Mickey Mouse figures. They were displayed in a pyramid shape and had figures from as far back as 1928 to as recently as last year. My favorite ones were the Pluto figures because Pluto is my favorite of all the Mickey Mouse characters. I also learned what animal Goofy is supposed to be which is something I have always wanted to know. I always thought he was a hippo but turns out he is actually a dog. Of all of the figures the really old ones were some of my favorites too. The colors were fading or the material was falling apart but what I loved was the person who put the collection together didn't just use newer figures. The figures also gave me something to look at while waiting for the plane to start boarding.

Plastic Yarn

I started making yarn out of plastic. It was a bit hard at first figuring out how to make the yarn but I soon got the hang of that. Then I had a bit of trouble figuring out how to wind the yarn into a ball. I figured out how but still had a bit of problems with it. It is mostly busy work for now but once I make enough yarn I will make something with it.
